NHCO joins the 7th Asia-Pacific Directors-General Meeting to advance social equity across the region
On 3 December 2025, Dr. Tipicha Posayanonda , Deputy Secretary-General of the National Health Commission; Mrs. Ureerat Chareontoh, Senior Advisor; and their delegation from the National Health Commission Office (NHCO) Thailand participated in the 7th Asia-Pacific Directors-General Forum for South-South and Triangular Cooperation: “Harnessing South-South Cooperation for Inclusive Societies in Asia and the Pacific” at the United Nations in Bangkok, Thailand.
The meeting aimed to strengthen academic collaboration and enable exchanges with policymakers and development partners to jointly drive South-South cooperation—cooperation among developing countries that is not bound by geographic divisions—toward inclusive development. It also promoted innovations, solutions, and scalable technologies to ensure that no one is left behind in a sustainable manner.
Mr. Chulvat Narinthrangura, Director-General of the Thailand International Cooperation Agency, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that this meeting provided a valuable opportunity for partner countries to discuss ways to enhance human resource capacity, build essential skills, and identify practical and sustainable approaches that can be applied across countries. On this occasion, Thailand also signed a development cooperation agreement with Kazakhstan and held discussions with representatives from Egypt on promoting mutual development cooperation.
Dr. Tipicha Posayanonda, Deputy Secretary-General of the National Health Commission Office, emphasized social participation in health policy mechanisms to promote equity in the health system under the National Health Act B.E. 2550 (2007). This includes the National Health Assembly, whose resolutions are aligned with key national and global situations—for example, the development of an inclusive Silver Economy for all groups in society. The NHCO has also played a key role in advancing a World Health Assembly resolution on social participation for health, which will serve as a global reference framework for people-centered health systems. In addition, there is a plan to develop a learning center on social participation.
